Five years on.
It has been five years since I started my photography business which is based in Shrewsbury – my glorious home town! In that time I have met and photographed so many wonderful people in some incredible places across Shropshire and beyond.
I adore my profession and am constantly striving to improve my work in every way possible. My journey as a professional has not been without a flip side. I have spent many late nights editing, planning and organising my business to ensure it runs the way I would like it to.
My profession has worn out some very good shoes of mine, witnessed a tear in my favourite Barbour coat (barbed wire, the countryside can be a little hazardous!) I have lost dozens of lens caps and a beautiful white umbrella (if anyone out there still has that?!) and I even had a black eye once – an accident where a guests camera met my head..
I do everything in my capability to balance a working life with bringing up my three (amazingly supportive) young daughters. But I have done it all with a big smile on my face. Because this is what I want. This is what is in my soul to do and I wouldn’t change a thing.
Today I can feel incredibly proud. After a lot of hard work and focus, I have been awarded a Licentiateship with the BIPP in the category of Portraiture.
This is a huge personal achievement for me. It is something that I believe is very important. Delivering the highest of standards to my clients so they will benefit and feel assured that they are working with a photographer that always strives to deliver high quality and care and is a qualified member of the British Institute of Professional Photographers.
